Hey! I'm Duncan. I live in Minneapolis, and intend to remain here for the foreseeable future. I began my first year at the University of Minnesota in September of 2022, and I plan to graduate in Fall 2025 with a B.S. in Computer Science.
At college, I am participating in both scholarly and extracurricular activities. During class, I study computer science, mathematics, and various other interesting topics. Outside of the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my friends, listening to music, and visiting the campus amateur radio building (W0YC).
I am an Undergraduate Research Fellow in the UMN Networking Research Group (linked below) under Prof. Zhi-Li Zhang. In addition to contributing to Ph.D. students' research projects, I have published my own short paper.
I also work as the Communications Subteam Leader at the UMN Small Satellite Research Laboratory where I manage communications between Earth and our spacecraft.
I enjoy the study of languages, music, and computer network/security. I taught myself one college semester of Modern Standard Arabic before beginning formal study, and I ran a chapter of the technology education group Hack Club at my high school. Additionally, I helped restructure part of a group of progressive students who created change in the school district and community.
